MOL Maritime (India) Pvt. Ltd. (MOLMI), a beacon of maritime expertise, began its voyage in June 1995 as MOL Manning Service S.A. (MOLMS), a subsidiary of the esteemed MOL, Tokyo. Born out of a clear vision to source India's finest seafarers for MOL Group Company's vessels, we established our initial liaison offices in Mumbai, the nodal point, and Kolkata in December 1995.
Many of MOLMIU+2019s seafarers have been recipients of MOLU+2019s Presidential award which has been instituted to promote this cause.
Our journey took a transformative turn with the merger of Navix Lines into MOL in 1999, paving the way for fresh concepts and strategies. By July 2000, we had integrated Navix Marine (India) Pvt. Ltd. within our fold and, in February 2001, proudly rechristened it as Mitsui O.S.K. Lines Maritime (India) Pvt. Ltd. (MOLMI). This signified not only a change in name but a renewed commitment to excellence, as we assumed the responsibilities of the MOLMS liaison office in April 2001.
Expanding our national footprint, we established coordinating offices which later evolved into full-fledged branch offices in Chennai (2006) and New Delhi (2007). This expansion ensured our presence was felt across the Indian maritime landscape.

MOLMI's reputation is underpinned by our Recruitment and Placement Service License, awarded by the Seaman’s Employment Office, Mumbai in December 2006 and valid through October 2026. In 2010, we embraced our present identity as MOL Manning Service (MOLMS), and later in April 2019, we streamlined our brand to MOL Maritime (India) Pvt. Ltd. Our dedication to service excellence was further solidified by becoming an IATA-approved Travel agent in 2020.
Our commitment to cultivating maritime talent is reflected in our world-class training programs, which commenced in October 2001. With the addition of state-of-the-art simulators in 2008 and 2022, our training centers in Pune and Mumbai stand as testimonies to our relentless pursuit of excellence.
The formation of the Marine Safety Group in 2005 marked our dedication to the safety and integrity of the MOL fleet. With over 2688 inspections to date, we continue to set the benchmark for safe vessel operations.
From managing a modest fleet in 1996, MOLMI now proudly mans 66 vessels, a testament to our growth and the trust placed in us by the maritime community. We cherish our seafarers, celebrating their contributions with Presidential awards and Loyalty recognitions, and supporting them with comprehensive medical and life insurance coverage.
MOLMI is not just an employer but a career incubator where seafarers can ascend to the highest ranks, even transitioning into roles within MOL's global entities. We engage our community through educational seminars and our HELLO MOLMI magazine, fostering a connected and informed workforce.
